The restaurant Taverna al Remer takes its name from the homonymous Campiello surrounded by fifteenth-century palaces in the heart of Venice. It is a charming place with an elegant staircase and a typical well in the middle.
But why the name Remer? You have to know that this place was once a workshop where the oars of the famous Venetian gondolas and the so-called forcole of the boats were made, working the wood as if it were a real sculpture.
From the banks of the Campiello del Remer you can enjoy a fabulous view of the Grand Canal, including part of the fascinating Rialto Bridge, the Renaissance Palazzo dei Camerlenghi and the famous Campo dell'Erberia.
